What are you involved in at CA?
In addition to serving as a head tour guide, I am a co‑head of Umoja, one of our affinity spaces. I serve on the Disciplinary Council, I’m a head orientation leader, and I’m a member of the Women of Color Alliance. This year also marks my fourth and final season as a member of our varsity track and field team.
Why did you choose CA?
I chose CA because it felt like the right mix of everything I was looking for—strong academics, a supportive community, and values that aligned with mine, especially common trust. But the real deciding factor was Revisit Day. I felt seen, welcomed, and pushed in the best way. I could picture myself growing here, and that’s when I knew CA was the place for me.
What is your favorite activity at CA and why?
My favorite activity at CA is track, which I discovered after coming here. I compete on the varsity team in the 100‑meter, 200‑meter, and the 4×100‑meter girls relay, and I’m currently training for field events like the long jump. While I enjoy my individual events, being part of the relay team is especially meaningful to me. The support we give each other is unmatched, and knowing my teammates rely on me just as much as I rely on them pushes me to give my best every time.
Favorite class you've taken at CA and why?
English has surprisingly become my favorite class at CA. I used to struggle with writing, but each English course has helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. We don’t just read—we connect the text to our own lives, our community, and the world around us. Every year, I feel myself becoming a stronger, more confident writer.
Advice to prospective students?
Be present for everything—the highs, the lows, the victories, and the setbacks. You grow from all of it. Don’t rush through the hard parts or overlook the small wins. Every moment teaches you something, and those lessons stay with you long after the moment has passed.
