What are you involved in at CA?
In addition to being a head tour guide, I play on CA’s girls varsity soccer team, and I’m a captain of the girls varsity lacrosse team. I’m also a head orientation leader for the new 9th grade students, a PALS student ambassador (CA’s community service club), and I take guitar lessons.
Why did you choose CA?
I chose to come to CA because of the special feel on campus. When I visited, I noticed something unique in the communal spaces—how open and friendly the people seemed. Everyone smiled at me and knew each other, and I could tell how many opportunities there were for all kinds of connections. Everyone is genuinely excited to be here together every day.
Favorite class you've taken at CA and why?
I took Sabrina’s Bible as Literature class junior spring, and it has been one of the best experiences I’ve had so far at CA. The class genuinely changed how I thought about learning. Sabrina’s passion for the material is contagious, and the course’s relevance in all aspects of my life has been amazing to discover. I’ve learned so much about biblical writing and concepts, while still learning a lot about how to manage an advanced and exciting courseload.
Share a moment where you knew you belonged at CA.
I spent a semester abroad in Spain during my junior fall, which was an incredible experience, but I was nervous about returning to campus after spending so much time away from home. The CA community welcomed me back so warmly. It took me a while to adjust, but I never felt like I was out of place, even having spent a whole semester away. My friends and teachers were really excited to see me, and it made my transition back so much easier.
Advice to prospective students?
Take classes that really excite you, and get to know the teacher early and well. Office hours, lunch meetings, and random conversations with teachers have animated my education here and brought me a real love of learning. The teachers here want to know you, and letting them in makes all the difference.
