What are you involved in at CA?
In addition to being a head tour guide, I am a member of the varsity cross-country and sailing teams. I'm also a co-head for Alianza (our Hispanic/Latin X affinity group), rock climbing club, album listening party, and PC building club.

Why did you choose CA?
I chose CA for its strong sense of community and breadth of its curriculum. As a transfer student, I was welcomed into the school and felt at home from day one. Additionally, I think one of CA’s biggest strengths is its lack of AP classes, as it creates a diverse curriculum that allows students to delve deeper into almost any interest.

Favorite class you’ve taken at CA and why?
My favorite class I’ve taken at CA was Precalculus, taught by Nikan Hodjat. I think this class perfectly encapsulates the collaborative nature of academics at CA, as it was, at its core, discussion-based, not lecture-based. Nikan’s infectious energy made the course engaging and easy to follow.

Advice to prospective students?
My advice to prospective students is to be open to new experiences. Moving from middle school to high school is a big adjustment! It can be daunting. CA has so much to offer, so join a new club, try a new instrument, or take a class you know nothing about.

What is your favorite activity at CA and why?
My favorite activities at CA are the Friday night events throughout the year, such as Spring Fest and The Cookout, as they’re a good way to relax after a long week. The community shows up, there’s always good food, and it sets the tone for the weekend.
